Beaver Falls Cemetery - Chippewa Twnp PA

Beaver Falls Cemetery is located along Darlington Road (Route 588) in Chippewa Township west of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. The burial ground, once part of a property belonging to Prussian-born immigrant Auguste Sieg, was established and incorporated in October 1910. The surrounding area was known to have a large concentration of German immigrants. The first burial is likely that of Grace I. McGee, who was interred in early August 1911. The cemetery is laid out on a hill in a circular pattern and contains a large military veterans section.

Among the notable burials are Joseph H. Thompson (1871-1928), a U.S. Army officer awarded the Medal of Honor for actions in World War I France, and Frank “Tiger” Walton (1911-1953), a former professional football player and part of the first ever father-son duo to play in the NFL.

  1. I am searching (without any luck) for my husband’s great grandparents. One of them, Harry Scheibner (died June 1913) is buried in Beaver Falls Cemetery. I have talked to a woman who has access to the cemetery records and she cannot find any record of Harry. The bigger challenge is that I can not find any death date for Harry’s wife Emma. Do you know if there is a section of older graves where they might be buried? I have been told by the woman mentioned above that record keeping was not good in the early 1900s. Emma did outlive Harry, so she will be after 1913.

    Thanks for anything you suggest!
    Amy
