Enon United Presbyterian Church - Enon Valley PA

Text Coming Soon!

The Enon Presbyterian Church was organized on July 1, 1873, from members of the nearby Little Beaver Presbyterian Church. The new church was a result of differences of opinion on various matters within the congregation. Members of the organizing committee included the Reverends B. C. Critchlow and William T. Taylor. The Little Beaver Church remained in operation but eventually closed in 1912. The Enon Presbyterian Church steadily grew and celebrated its 50th anniversary in June 1923. At some point the beautiful steeple was damaged by a storm and had to be removed. (c1910)

The church experienced much growth in the first half of the new century and in 1940 a portion of the congregation broke away and founded the Enon Valley Bible Presbyterian Church. In 1953 a basement with a kitchen and Sunday school classes was added, which was subsequently used for services while the sanctuary was completed remodeled. On June 19, 1954, a rededication ceremony was held to celebrate the reopening of the improved sanctuary. In June 1973 the church, previously renamed as the Enon United Presbyterian Church, proudly marked its 100th anniversary with a special ceremony. The church is still in active service today. 1. Would you have a phone number for this church? My G.G. Grandfather William Taylor was a Preacher, but I am not sure what church he had his services at. Looking forward to hearing from you.
